haven't made these in quite some time now! mini-albums. was kinda hooked on them. felt, fabric, embelishments, ribbon, paper, pictures and handwriting and hand sewing my way through it.
sometimes filled with lots of emotions. sometimes just for fun. i really do think i want to make one again. with all those gorgeous fabrics i've been hoarding for ages. and in our new home i can even hoard more stuff. bwahahaha. don't tell Arjan!
did you make them? what is your favorite subject to create mini-albums with?
oh almost forgot! you can find tutorials in my shop! yaaassss :)
for such a long time i thought i wasn't worth it. i didn't earn it. sure, i worked my ass off, but seriously, what would everybody else think....
what would "they" think if "they" found out we bought our dream house. a big house. with a fantastic view and a huge garden. "they" might be jealous and say nasty stuff to me. just like i've heard for so many times already when i started my business and during my life as an entrepeneur. and that sticks to me.
i couldn't shake it off. ofcourse we bought our dreamhouse. because Arjan isn't bothered by other peoples opinions. bless him.
but i still had some hurdles to overcome. mostly my own thought process. activated by remarks other people made. that stuck to my head and wouldn't leave.
people who are thinking negatively and shouting the loudest what they think of people spending their money. their own money. they worked extremely hard for. probably fueled by the green jealousy monster.
and i can't always manage my own thought process on my own. i love to work on me. how my mind works. how i react. what my pitfalls are and why i think the way i think or react the way i react.
my sweet (business) but also very personal life coach Nicole Offenberg keeps me on track. that was the best gift to myself the past year.
and i'm not 'finished' because i believe you are never 'finished'. there are always situations where you can learn from. become a better person, become a better mother. become a better ME. work on ME. loving me. (ohhh working on my Love Yourself More program as we speak!!)
knowing I AM ALOUD to buy this house and to enjoy it (and that crazy big garden) to the max. i am. i can. thank you so so so much Nicole, for walking this path with me <3.
i <3 craft. all crafts. i like to create mixed media canvasses. art journal. draw. color. sketch. paint. sew. stitch. model clay. crochet.
i like to work with my hands. it gives me a feeling of freedom. i like the feeling of making something that wasn't there before. my head is constantly on some level of active creating duty. like when i walk in a store and i see something random on the shelves, i immediately start to think what i can make of that.
when i see somebody on the street and love the pattern they are wearing, i secretly make a picture. yup. no faces. i promise. just the pattern that inspires me.
i've got notebooks and notebooks and notebooks full of ideas. so many ideas. AND time. because i make time. don't have time? skip social media & tv for one evening. and be amazed by ALL THE TIME YOU HAVE.
i love seeing other artists work, so i created this little 2,5 minute video for you to get a glimpse! not the complete canvas, are you freaking serious! just a sneak of how i work. and yes i really have tried to stay out of the shot as much as possible. and i'm wearing NOT my favorite clothes (jeans and shirt) but didn't want to ruin my cute dresses :D. but hey, i'm OK. this is me and that's lovely <3.
i strongly believe that helping friends, especially (creative) entrepeneurs is very important. my sweet friend Ellen (shopname: Pollevie) creates the most stunning crochet wraps you can think of. colorful, happy, crazy beautiful. here's what she has to say about it:
Hi fashionable girls and ladies!
Currently I am working on a project where I crochet very colorful wraps.
"Pollevie shawls" each have their own cheerful and distinctive look and feel. With This boho / Ibiza style wrap you are the one who adds color to every festival. Or sit outside with this shawl. Together with friends enjoying endless summer nights .
I make these "Pollevie shawls" for both adults and children. Via Etsy I sell these wraps in my own shop. There you can find me under the name Pollevie. Do you want one too with colors specially selected for you? come and have a look or leave me a message on Etsy.
she even makes the most cutest one for (her) kids too!
now tell me, don't you want one?!
you can find her Etsyshop HERE. you can follow her crochet adventures here on Instagram, and if Facebook is your hangout, you can find her HERE.
oh, and so you know, i just saw a fabulous give away on her instagram too!!!
and she is even going to give workshops. the first one, was a big hit, look how cozy:
i seriously love ICY weather. guess i am "cryophilic" -> preferring or thriving at low temperatures". it's no secret i can do absolute NOTHING when the temperature is above 25 degrees (celcius). i seriously hate hot weather. my brain just doesn't function anymore, so does my body. i can only sit, sweat and be irritated. yes. charming huh?! so the weather these days here have been so good to me. cold, sunny, fresh and icy. although my muscles hurt more than ever, i do FEEL better with these temperatures.
it's like, you really have to go through darkness to appreciate the light so much. even though life can be such a bitch, there will always be light in unexpected places. find those places. find that light.
are you artjournaling everyday already? why not? give it a go!
"GROW through what you go through". and oh yes, every obstacle you have to overcome, every person that pushes your buttons like BIG TIME, every situation that get's your heart racing, you have to deal with and you GROW so much by going through ordeals.
guess i'm just simply addicted to drawing girls, watercolors & doodling flowers. you're welcome 😜💗
